The incident occurred on Sunday.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the attempted murder of the six-year-old who was “thrown” from the Tate Modern.
The boy, who had been visiting the London museum with his mother over the weekend, fell from the 10th floor viewing platform and landed on the fifth floor roof.
He is in a critical but stable condition.
Sky News reports that the teenager who had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has now been formally charged.
The 17-year-old will appear before Bromley Youth Court today. Police do not believe the victim was known to him.
Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene near London Bridge station on Sunday afternoon.
A witness said that they were on the 10th floor viewing platform when they heard a “loud bang.” They then heard a woman scream: “Where’s my son?”
“We did not notice the mum before, we noticed her after because she was hysterical by then,” said the witness.
The Tate Modern was the UK’s most popular tourist attraction in 2018 with 5.9 million visitors. The viewing platform was opened in 2016.
