The singer puts his spin on a song first introduced to the world by Judy Garland

If his name wasn’t enough confirmation, John Legend has now solidified himself as an actual legend by covering a Christmas classic in time for the festive season.

Lending his vocals to “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, a song first introduced to the world in the 1944 MGM musical Meet Me in St. Louis, the EGOT winner and multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter has also revealed the video for the track.

Featuring Esperanza Spalding, the pair join artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sam Smith and UK group MiC LOWRY who have all covered the classic Christmas song, ranked the third most performed Christmas song by ASCAP.

Legend’s version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” is taken from his recently released first Christmas album, A Legendary Christmas.
