Kristina Roth is the woman behind the initiative and she told the New York Post that the SuperShe Island (yes, that is what it's called) will exist to allow women to focus on themselves.
Makes sense.
Roth said that she wants women to apply for stays at the SuperShe Island via a letter explaining why they're excited to go.
She also wants people to include a video as part of their application.
She said: “I’d like to vet the person and see that they’re well-rounded and would fit in but I don’t want to be elitist.”
Even so, a seven-night stay on the island could set you back about €3,000 so we're not entirely sure this island is as female inclusive as Roth would like it to be.
That being said though, this island does sound oddly familiar.
Back in the early twentieth century, Charlotte Perkins Gilman wrote a book about an all-female utopia called 'Herland.'
The peace, tranquillity, and general chill vibe of Herland was only compromised when a group of male explorers decided to show up and start getting some of the women pregnant.
So, you know, maybe Roth is onto something here.
We just need to perfect asexual reproduction and we'll be flying.Life
