Men and women from Leitrim have the most complicated relationships in the country, according to a new study.
The research is based on Facebook Insights and came to several conclusions about love in Ireland, including the fact that Irish men are 37 per cent more likely to be single than women.
It was also found that Irish women are 38 per cent more likely to list that they are married on Facebook, with Dubliners deemed the most secretive about their relationships with 49 per cent not listing their status on the social network.
According to digital agency Eighty Twenty, who carried out the study, Beyoncé should be booking her next gig in Carlow as it has the highest percentage of single ladies in the country (33%).
If you’re looking to bag a new boyfriend on Valentine’s weekend, all roads lead to Limerick… with 44 per cent of men saying they are free and single.
Wexford has the most monogamous ladies, with only 16 per cent saying they are single, while Clare men have no fear of commitment as 70 per cent are currently in a relationship.
While your timeline may be full of gushing couples tomorrow, it seems that the Irish are pretty shady when it comes to sharing the love online, with 42 per cent choosing not to display a relationship status but they’re loud and proud in Laois, where 67 per cent are happy to reveal all.
Oh and if you like to keep your options open… 0.56 per cent of those in Monaghan are up for an open relationship, compared to just 0.1 per cent in Cavan.
