These are a few of our favourite things… for this week at least.

Run Forrest, Run!

It’s been about a month since Michelle and Sue took part in the Samsung Night Run, following their Girls Run The World challenge. This weekend, Sue will be participating in the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon, while Michelle has just signed up for her second 10km too. She will be heading to her home county, the Banner, on June 21st to join the good folks at the Clare People for the The Clare 10KM Road Race. All proceeds from the event go to a wonderful cause, Clare Haven Services.

Game, Set, Match

Rebecca got a new pair of tennis shoes this week and she can’t, especially with the French Open on the television at the moment, can’t wait to get out on the courts to try them out. Fingers crossed the weather forecast is reliable and she’ll get out this coming bank holiday weekend. (Then again, it is Ireland so you never know!)

Magnificent Maleficent

Angelina’s latest film, Maleficent will be in cinemas this week but Sue was really excited about getting her hands on some of the MAC collection that was created especially for the film. Maleficent is in cinemas this weekend across the country and it is worth it for Angelina’s performance alone.

Take a Hike

Liz loves that the weather is starting to pick up and she can now start planning trips out and about. With the weekend weather promising a little spot of sunshine, she’s heading to Glendalough with friends for a hike and a picnic on Saturday. The promise of getting out of the city for a couple of hours has her very excited!

Forbidden Fruit

On Wednesday Grace got to go behind the construction for a special preview of this year’s Forbidden Fruit Festival. Preparations for the event this weekend are well underway and things are shaping up nicely. Thanks to the lovely folk at Bulmer’s we enjoyed a tour of the grounds and the first sneak peek at the ‘Good Time Lounge’ whilst sipping a cold drink, eating cupcakes at sunny Kilmainham and being entertained by the Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble. If you haven’t made any plans for the bank holiday weekend this promises to be one festival not to be missed.

PIZZA Party!

Our lovely friends at JustEat sent us some pizza this week. #FoodBrain = sorted.

Everything’s rosey!

Úna attempted to bake apple rose tartlets for the first time with some of the fruit she had leftover in the house. Unfortunately they didn’t turn out exactly as she wanted them to, but they had a lovely sweet taste to them thanks to all of the sugar. She’ll definitely be giving them a go again!

On Your Marks, Get Set…

Marie has been talking about getting fit and doing a proper run for about five years now but has decided to take a cue from Elvis and give it ‘a little less conversation, a little more action please’. The goal is to complete the Rainbow Run 5K at the end of June and the lovely people at Vodafone have come on board to sponsor her efforts, starting with this Samsung Galaxy S5 (which is jampacked with great fitness features) and some personal training with Alan at Flyefit. Is four weeks enough to turn a couch potato into an action woman? Follow her blog from next week to find out!

The Next Best Thing

Cathy is obsessed with beautiful dresses and no one does them better than Jenny Packham. She’s known for designing many of Kate Middleton’s red carpet gowns and is also responsible for some truly stunning wedding dresses. While these are way out of our style obsessive’s budget, Cathy was delighted to hear that Jenny Packham has designed a new range of make-up bags for Lancôme. If you buy two Lancôme products (one skincare) then the Jenny Packham designed make-up bag full of mini Lancôme goodies is yours. NICE.

Anyone for Chips?

Wednesday of this week marked National Fish and Chip Day. All this really meant is that we spend the whole day dreaming about vinegar-soaked greasy treats. Nom. To mark the occasion, we asked you guys to nominate the best places in Ireland to head for a bag and a batter, and you voted in your droves. Fancy a treat this weekend? We’ve got the ultimate chipper guide right here.
