These are a few of our favourite things… this week at least.

Join the Movement

Last week Grace and Marie headed to Vicar Street for The Riptide Movement’s headline gig. The four lovely lads from Lucan gave an incredible performance and even made sure the crowd was comfortable. This picture was captured just after the lads asked fans to Suí síos! TRM have two huge fans in the Her.ie office.

That Doggy in the Cafe Window

Liz took a stroll out in Howth this week, and decided on her way back to the car to stop off in The Little Dog House Tea Rooms for a cuppa. It was the highlight of her week. From vintage cups, to seriously delicious baked treats, they had Liz from the minute the waitress led her to a giant armchair in the corner. The French music playing in the background was a nice touch too. Liz is planning on heading again this weekend, this time with her dog Crunchie in tow. They even keep pet friendly seating with heaters outside. HEAVEN.

Bound for a Good Time

No, that does not mean we’re in to S&M. This week Michelle is thrilled to have purchased tickets for Kanye West and Pharrell Williams in Marlay Park this summer. Though we’re all undecided as to whether he is a genius or a nut job, there’s no denying the man knows how to put on a show and his tunes are epic. Úna and Sue bought tickets too, so if you’re heading along and you see three women going MENTAL to Gold Digger… we apologise in advance.

Cosplayers Unite!

A couple of years ago Úna headed to her first convention, ArcadeCon, and absolutely adored it! The team there have put together a spanking new video highlighting some of the best cosplayers in Ireland and it’s pretty snazzy. The convention is the biggest geek event of the Irish summer – With cosplay, tournaments, panels, competitions and live music, no gamer or fangirl should miss out on it!

I Scream, You Scream

Alanna‘s favourite thing this week is editorial meetings with Sundaes. Everyone was really excited and got very creative with their sundaes – it was adorbs. And it was all thanks to the legend at HB who sent us ice-cream, fruit, nuts and chocolate. Pretty much the perfect Thursday.

Easter Treats

The Easter Bunny came in to visit the Her.ie and Joe.ie offices this week and you can imagine our excitement. He came bearing a basket of Easter goodies (lots of chocolate) which should keep us going for a while. Resident chocaholic Cathy was very happy indeed!

Nerds Unite

This week, Sue has really been getting into Game of Thrones, which Úna is delighted about because now they can have ridiculously nerdy chats about characters and different wars in the series. She has just finished Series 2 though, so no spoilers!

A Better Breakfast

Another tasty treat arrived into the office this week in the form of The Cronado, much to the delight of Rebecca. As someone who likes to bake in her spare time, she was very excited about Centra’s new creation which comes in two flavours (nougat and vanilla for those who have a sweet tooth). In fact, we don’t think we’ve ever seen her as happy and we are also hoping they might inspire her to bake this weekend.

Pining for New Music

New music is one of Marie‘s favourite things and this week, she is heading to see Join Me In The Pines, the new band from Bell XI’s Dave Geraghty in the beautiful surrounds of the Unitarian Church. With a 200 year old Harmonium and Dave’s mammy on backing vocals, it promises to be an interesting night!

Kate the Great and Wonderful Will

We’ve all been following the snaps of Kate, Will and baby George this week. Whatever your opinion on royalty, there is no denying that this young family are wonderful ambassadors for their country. It doesn’t hurt that they’re all adorable either.
