WATCH: Little Girl With Cerebral Palsy Dances For The First Time

This warmed our hearts.

Cathy Donohue

You may remember we featured a story last week about the Firefly Upsee, a special invention which helps children with cerebral palsy to walk.

The video below features six-year-old Taylor dancing for the first time with the aid of this device, to her favourite song, Taylor Swift’s I Knew You Were Trouble.

Her mother Dana is there to help her along and the joy on both of their faces is a sight to behold.

“It was so beautiful,” Florence told The Huffington Post, adding that Taylor was able to “move in ways that she never moved before,” such as side-to-side and forward and back.

The Firefly Upsee works much like how an adult would lead a child in a dance — by placing the kid’s feet on top of their own.

Instead of facing their parents, the device positions children the opposite way, so they are facing forward with their feet planted in between an adult’s legs.

“We were all blown away by how well she did with it,” Florence said adding that she plans to bring the device to her and Taylor’s weekly dance classes.

“It was really a new experience for her, and for me as a mom,” the proud mother continued.

Have a look at the video below, our hearts melted to see how happy this mother and daughter are.
