Time Flies! You Won’t Believe What Irish Book is Ten Years Old This Week

It's hard to believe it's been ten years since we cried into our copy of this one...

Rebecca McKnight

It’s been an eventful decade since Bertie Ahern’s youngest daughter penned her debut novel at the tender age of twenty-one.

At the time, Bertie was still Taoiseach and young Cecelia was subject to all kinds of mockery for embarking on such a career, with many whispers around ‘who she is’ not ‘what she does’ surrounding her well-publicised deal.

Then P.S. I Love You hit the shelves, and Cecelia’s critics were forced to enjoy a slice of humble pie, as the romantic tearjerker hit bestseller lists all over the world.

We’re suckers for a weepie in Her.ie Towers, and in the intervening years the soft spot we have for P.S. I Love You hasn’t waned, even after Gerard Butler’s best attempts to murder the Irish accent in the 2007 screen adaptation.

Today, on this most romantic of day’s, the book’s author will be hitting up one of the capital’s most romantic meeting spots.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of P.S. I Love You, Cecelia will be at under the iconic clock at Clerys at 12:30pm today for an exclusive signing of her bestselling love story. You can pick up a stunning special edition copy of the book at Clerys and join Cecelia #UnderTheClock for Valentine’s Day
