This position is ‘best’ for conceiving a girl but we’re not buying it

Over the years, research has circulated regarding the possible effect of sex positions on the gender of the baby that's conceived. Some people believe there is a correlation between the two, others aren't so sure but the opinion of this particular professional is likely to be of interest nonetheless. Dr Landrum Shettles, author of How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby is well-known for his thoughts on how various sex positions can determine the sex of your baby. It's important to note that conceiving a child, regardless of his her gender is the most important thing but people are interested in the studies conducted by medical professionals. Shettles has said that male sperm is generally weaker and faster while female sperm is stronger and slower. He maintains that shallow penetration is important for those hoping to have a baby girl and so he recommends sex in the missionary position. Why? The idea behind this theory, although there is no scientific proof as such, says that sex in the missionary position allows sperm to be deposited further from the cervix. This gives female sperm a greater chance to fertilise the egg, as female sperm tends to live longer than male. However, spooning is another option because the position of your legs allows you to ensure the penetration is shallow. Although these sex positions may not be the most exciting options, they might be worth a try if you're hoping to have a baby girl.
