So we have both good news and bad news, the good news is a third Thor film has been confirmed but the bad news is we have to wait until July 2017 to see it.

In a special announcement made today, Marvel Studios confirmed that Thor : Ragarnok will be released on July 28, 2017.

There hasn’t been any casting news as of yet but it’s thought that Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) will return for the third film… (here’s hoping).

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, spoke at the event saying “Thor: Ragnarok will pick up right after the end of Avengers 2 and will impact everything to come afterwards.

“What we’ll do between now and the release date is educate the rest of the world on what that word Ragnarok means,” he said.

Stand-alone movies for Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange were also confirmed at the special event and it was revealed that the Avengers series will come to an end with the Avengers: Infinity War split into two movies, due for release in 2018 and 2019.
