The latest one on our radar is 80s inspired, say hello to nail foil art.
Metallic foil nails, inspired by the silver and gold shades of the disco decade, are trending on Instagram and this is one trend we can’t wait to try.
To get the look, nail foil is applied to the glue and then painstakingly removed to leave a foil like a residue on the nail.
Nail artist Miss Pop spoke to Fashionista about the trend and explained that it’s easy to recreate at home.
“Most nail foils for nail polish use a special glue. You apply the traditional nail foils right when the glue dries clear and depending on how you apply it, it can leave different abstract patterns”.
As Miss Pop says, always press the nail foil with the coloured side facing upwards.
A top coat is recommended to seal the foil effect and if you’re getting them done in a salon, ask to have them cured with a gel top coat for maximum effect.
