You know that little pocket within the pocket of your jeans? The one that gets in the way if you’re putting your hand into your pocket? Ever wondered what it’s for?
Well, according to The Lad Bible the reason dates back to the 1800’s. They say that it was a ‘watch pocket’, used by cowboys.
The original designs for jeans had four pockets, one in the back, two main ones in the front and then the little watch pocket.
The watch would be fastened to the belt loop and then tucked inside the mini pocket to be accessed easily.
