It’s not just the risk of a wolf-whistle anymore, and one woman has had enough.
From catcalls to unwanted attention, or simply being told that as women we should crack a smile – gender based harassment is on the rise and one Brooklyn-based artist decided to take matters into her own (artistic) hands.
Tatyana Fazlalizadeh spoke to groups of women on their experiences of living in the city, and taking these women’s voices and faces, she plastered them boldly across the walls of Brooklyn businesses.
The art creative is now picking up traction, and touring the states. Check out what the artist has to say on why it’s important to address the intimidation women are facing on the street.
