Brooklyn is one of the best Irish novels of our time
Did anyone else fall head over heels in love with the heartbreakingly beautiful Brooklyn when it was published in 2009?
The Colm Tóibín novel quickly became one of my favourite historical fiction novels and a sequel is on the way.
The Irish author has penned a sequel to the 2009 book and we cannot wait to read it.
Long Island is set to be published in May and there’s no doubt it’ll be a best-seller.
There may be a good few months to go until the book is published but the blurb has us gripped already.
“A man with an Irish accent knocks on Eilis Fiorello’s door on Long Island and in that moment everything changes. Eilis and Tony have built a secure, happy life here since leaving Brooklyn – perhaps a little stifled by the in-laws so close, but twenty years married and with two children looking towards a good future.

We cannot wait to revisit Eilis and Tony’s story again.
But will we get another movie with Saoirse Ronan? Let’s hope so.
