“How To Poo On A Date” Is Declared The Oddest Book

This is too strange for us to understand.

Alanna Alexander

We all have very strange thoughts during the day: Do I really know how planes work? Why do I always come up with business plans in the shower? Does Meryl Streep ever think she’s not talented?

The only difference between you and the guy who just presented a literary award, is that the guy decided to write a book about his weird thoughts.

How To Poo On A Date is about “toilet etiquette for lovers.” Thankfully the book is not an instruction manual as the title suggests but is “a practical guide to confronting every possible problem or eventuality one may encounter when wooing.”

Naturally the award they won was the for Oddest Book Title.

Writers Mats & Enzo have already been nominated for the prize several times, with shortlisted titles including How to Poo on Holiday, How to Poo at Workand How to Bonk at Work.

The Bookseller, which organises the prize, has been going since 1978. Previous winners of the title have written How to Shit in the Woods, American Bottom Archaeology and Cooking with Poo.

“Diagram devotees have spoken, and spoken in no uncertain terms: poo wins prizes,” said prize administrator Tom Tivnan.
