When a father decided to leave his children in a car and take a trip into the pub, his venture didn’t end like he hoped it would.
28-year-old Joshua Delong left his three children aged 5, 7 and 8 in his car while he drank beer at a bar in Ocala, Florida.
Christopher Chung, a security guard at the establishment, found Delong lying on the pavement outside the bar bleeding and beaten.
According to NBC, Chung contacted authorities and explained that he had tried persuading the man from getting into his vehicle while intoxicated, it was at this point an angry patron hit Delong.
In a statement to police, Delong later admitted that several men in the pub had dragged him outside and beaten him after learning that he had abandoned his three children outside in his car.
The police report stated that Delong’s kids were left alone for approximately four hours with no ventilation and the keys were left in the ignition. It is also reported that the young kids had been beeping and shouting for their father.
Delong was arrested and charged with three counts of child neglect.
