Facebook is reportedly planning to introduce a WiFi finder feature

This is pretty cool.

This would be very handy.

Trying to get a Wifi connection when you’re and about can be very frustrating and usually, your phone has a habit of picking up private networks which you have no way of getting access to anyway.

However, Facebook is planning to introduce a built-in Wifi feature that will make it much easier to find free Wifi wherever you are.

A spokesperson told Mashable:

“To help people stay connected to the friends and experiences they care about, we are rolling out a new feature that surfaces open Wi-Fi networks associated with nearby places”.

According to reports, the feature is currently being tested and has yet to officially roll out but at least it’s happening.

It’s important to note that this new and pretty cool feature will allow you to see the public places around you that have free wifi, and will provide you with estimated distances to each one.

Now, we know that you can get separate apps to do this for you but having it built into Facebook would be much better than trying to add another app to your already full phone memory.
