Dad praised after admitting he uses women’s bathrooms when with his daughters

A dad is being praised on social media after he revealed that when he brings his daughter to a public toilet, he always uses the women.

For any parent, mum or dad, bringing your child of the opposite gender to the toilet can be a hassle, and for one person, it will always be the “wrong” loo.

One dad came out recently to say the decision was actually a lot easier for him and explained that no matter where he is, he wants his daughter to use the ladies bathroom.

Muhammed Nitoto, or @chroniclesofdaddy on Instagram, is being hailed after saying that he believes the men’s facilities are not suitable for young girls.

Explaining how men’s toilets lack in cleanliness, he also said that more often than not they don’t have any facilities for baby changing.

Deciding to only take his daughter to the women’s if there wasn’t a family bathroom available, Muhammed said: “[Gents’ bathrooms] smell like pee and nothing is set up for a person with a child. The changing table was right next to the urinal which means my child literally would be next to where men pee while she’s being changed.”

This was the final straw for Muhammed.

He said: “They are too young to go on their own so I have to go in with them. I try to be as respectful to women as I can while doing so which consists of knocking on the door before entering and announcing myself.

“Making sure if someone is inside that they know I am a Dad coming in with his daughter and making sure they are comfortable with that.

“Now once inside our stall, I still am aware of the door and whenever I hear it open and someone new is coming in I announce myself again and make sure they know I’m inside with my child so that they aren’t surprised.”

Garnering a lot of support since his post, one person commented: “I support this 100%. My husband and I were at the mall one time, I think our daughter was two.

“He took her into the men’s room to change her. When he came out he said the exact things you did in this post. It was dirty, the changing table was out in the open by the urinals and the men walking in and out made it uncomfortable.

“He said he got a weird look from one guy (not in a creepy way, more of a ‘what is your daughter doing in here?’ look).”

Another said: “I love that you continue to announce yourself as you hear the door open so you don’t surprise anyone.
