Banksy’s Latest Mural Makes A Statement That We Can Relate To All Too Well

The Banksy mural that was discovered recently may not make be as political as his other works but it is definitely something that we all understand. Mobile Lovers shows a couple embracing, but instead of gazing lovingly into each other's eyes (like they do in all the scenes in the movies and the romance novels) they're wrapped up in the virtual relationships that their glowing screens offer. Critics say that the darkened doorway on which it is painted suggests an illicit affair, but instead we get two people distracted by technology. The "romantic glow" being the light from their screens. The street art has been removed with a crowbar since it was discovered by the Broad Plains Boys Club to "prevent it from being vandalised." The club has said that the painting can be viewed for a "small donation" that also happens to provide them with the funds to allow it to stay open.
