Unfortunately we live in a society where some people still exert their physical power over others.
Even though no always means no, the right to feeling safe and secure in your body and environment is violated in Ireland on a weekly basis.
Most people who are raped already know the person who raped them, or have some sort of relationship with them. Although survivors of rape are never to blame, they are the ones left picking up the pieces.
Rape Crisis Midwest have released a new video to highlight the importance of being there for a survivor post attack.
This one minute clip gives an insight to the crime, but asks how you can help next.
