That is one beautiful daddy and daughter relationship.

There’s something very special about the bond between a daddy and his daughter.

NFL player Devon Still’s acts as a tough Bengals defensive lineman while he’s at work, but he’s as soft as it gets when it comes to his 4-year-old daughter Leah.

Yesterday, Leah underwent surgery to remove a tumour. Driving her to the hospital, Devon captured a special moment between the two on camera. In it, the sports star gives his little princess a pep talk. Sharing the video on Instagram, Devon said; “Pre-surgery pep talk…I might be nervous and scared beyond words but I’ll never let her see.”

Happily, Devon was able to update fans later with some happy news, again taking to Instagram from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to say;  “The surgeon was able to remove ALL of her tumor and all of her lymph nodes and her right adrenal gland where it all started.”

“Best news I’ve received in a long time.”

Lovely Leah is not yet cancer free, as her doting father explained on Twitter: “My daughter is NOT cancer free..today was a big step towards that but still a long road ahead. She has stage 4 which means the cancer spread to her bone marrow which we hope will be removed with her next couple of treatments” [sic].

Bengals supporters have flocked to show their solidarity with the family. The club announced that they would donate proceeds of the sales of Still’s No. 75 jersey to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Since the gesture was made, sales of Devon Still jerseys have been hit record-breaking highs.
