There was some serious excitement in the Her.ie office this morning with the news that one of our favourite movies, Mrs Doubtfire, is to be revived with a new sequel.
However, while we were comparing our favourite moments, original star Mara Wilson was venting her anger over the development online. Wilson, who played Nattie in the movie alongside Robin Williams, said that not only were there “many, many” reasons that she would not be starring in the new film but she opposed the follow-up completely as “sequels generally suck”.
For the record, no, I do not have anything to do with the Mrs. Doubtfire sequel, nor will I.

I’ve been in some mediocre movies, but I’ve never been in a sequel. And I have no interest in being in one now. — Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end.

I’m glad I had the chance to be in it, and I’m proud of what we did, but I don’t see how we could do it again. — Mara Wilson (@MaraWritesStuff) April 17, 2014
There are many, many reasons I don’t want to be in Mrs. Doubtfire 2. But they haven’t even asked me (yet), so no need to worry.
