There was massive drama at this year’s Miss Amazon 2015 in Brazil as the finale was shrouded in accusations of cheating.
According to footage of the final, the runner-up on the night Sheislane Hayalla pulled the sash and crown from the winning contestant Carolina Toledo and the video has since gone viral.
“In Manaus money is the boss and I’m showing the people of the Amazonas that money is not in charge here,” said runner-up Hayalla. “She did not deserve it.”
She explained to Globo G1 that contestants had become increasingly frustrated as Toledo had been given special attention and privileges.
A furious Toledo slammed Hayalla and stated that she would “face justice”.
“I sleep with a clear conscience,” she added.
