“On A Post It!” Thirteen Things We Learned From Sex And The City

Well, let's be fair, this taught us a lot...

Sex and the City was literally the programme that you had to watch when you were a teenager. Let’s be fair, when this first hit Irish screens there were a number of Irish mothers who were slightly concerned about exactly how “promiscuous” Samantha was; it took a lot of explaining to get across that this was a new world where women embraced their sexuality. Here are thirteen things we learned from Sex and the City.

1. Never EVER break up with anyone on a Post-It

Just… no.

2. Your girl friends will always be there for you.

Even when everyone else is not…

3. Sex tips.

Samantha taught us some sexy lessons never knew existed.

4. Everyone needs an internal monologue.

If you could talk to your computer, even better.

5. Every woman NEEDS a walk-in wardrobe.

There is not a woman in the world who would not kill for this.

6. Shoes are more important than food.

This is a fact.

7. If at first you don’t succeed…

We all fall flat on our face at some stage. The important thing is to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on trucking.

8. Accept that he’s just not that into you.

He didn’t call. Move on.

9. Never settle for anything less than butterflies.

“Some people are settling down, some people are settling and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies.”

10. ALWAYS listen to your friends.

Even if you don’t always agree with them, they care about you and they are telling you off for the right reasons.

11. Life does not end at 30.

In fact, life sort of began for the ladies in Sex and the City AFTER 30.

12. Love him, but love you more.

The always wise Samantha.

13. Some series are never meant to be movies.

Dear Hollywood, you ruined a perfectly good series.
