He has some questions to answer.
We’re sure Ed Sheeran didn’t think he’d have to jump through so many hoops to get his New Zealand Citizenship when he asked the PM earlier this week.
The singer recorded a message for his Kiwi fans this week ahead of his concerts in the country in March, saying:
“I’m not yet a citizen, but I’m working on it – hook me up Prime Minister, please!”
A week later, and the New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern recorded her own video message for the Thinking Out Loud singer, saying she’d be happy to grant citizenship but only if he could answer a few simple questions.
“Before we’re able to think about that a little bit more I’ve got some very important questions for you; the first, do you like pineapple lumps? Do you even know what they are?”

After a few follow-up question, Ardern told Ed she’d be happy to discuss the issue further if he answered the questions correctly.
However, Ed needn’t worry as the folks on Twitter have been slipping him the answers online all day.
Just checking @jacindaardern, if I was to give @edsheeran the answers that wouldn’t be cheating would it? ? (Ed, pineapple lumps are lollies, Jandals are flip flops & Yes, you do) #HereToHelphttps://t.co/6vYokj6mVj
