This Morning finally has two new main presenters
It may have taken months to find Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s replacements on This Morning, but ITV has finally made a decision.
The rumour mill has been full of speculation about who will replace the duo with dozens of contenders cropping up.
However, it looks like Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have been victorious.
According to reports, the pair are set to sign major contracts with ITV.
Producers spent a lot of time trialing a host of presenters including Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson, Rylan Clark, and Craig Doyle.
An insider told The Sun that a lot of huge presenters were interested in the role despite the rocky year ‘This Morning’ faced.
“This is one of the most coveted gigs in UK television. ITV execs are determined to get it right. Cat really impressed when she came in, and Ben is a consummate professional and hugely popular with the housewife demographic.
The producers were keen to find two presenters who were reliable, experienced, and scandal-free.
“He’s an extremely safe pair of hands, has real gravitas, and doesn’t have a whiff of scandal around him – Cat is the number one target to replace Holly, but negotiations are ongoing,” the insider said.
Both Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby stepped down from their roles on This Morning in 2023.
Schofield quit the presenting gig after it was revealed that he had an affair with a colleague.
Willoughby was forced to leave the show after becoming the victim of an alleged kidnapping plot.
