Off Campus season 2 sets Allie and Dean as the season's focus couple

The news won’t come as a huge surprise to fans of the show, who saw Allie and Dean’s relationship kick off during Season 1, which focused on the new couple's respective best friends Hannah and Garrett.

In an interview with Variety about the show, series creator Louisa Levy said that all eight scripts have been written for season two, and they have a "very exciting plan".

"I don’t want to say anything yet — but I think book fans will be very excited."

The writer said she finds it "very difficult to invest in a couple and grow them entirely from scratch."

" I wanted viewers to know who they were going to be tuning in for next. Allie felt so organic, because she’s Hannah’s best friend and Dean is already there, and their love story in the book is a secret — so why not let it be a surprise, even to book fans, when we’re going to launch it?", she added.

According to Louisa, some aspects of their relationship had to work differently because of timing and platforming, but she promised that all "the fan-favourite things are still intended and planned."

"There’s still a lot of road with those two."

Louisa made an official announcement to confirm the couple that will be focused on throughout the upcoming season.

“We are so excited to continue Allie and Dean’s story as our primary romance of Season 2 after kickstarting their romance in Season 1.”

“But if you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don’t worry — they will still be an integral part of our robust ensemble. We’re looking forward to telling the next chapter of everyone’s story," she continued, adding that "there's a lot" for fans to look forward to.

The second season of the popular romantic comedy series will start filming on June 1st. All eight episodes of the first season are available to watch on Prime Video now.
