Jamie Lynn Spears quit the show due to medical reasons

The former Zoey 101 star appeared in Wednesday night's 'I'm a Celebrity... Coming Out' show.

Viewers were shocked to hear the American actress say she regretted leaving the show so early.

During last night's episode, Jamie Lynn praised her campmates for being such a comfort.

She said they helped her get through the 'tough' first few days of camp.

She even described her fellow contestants as "life-long friends".

The actress said the first part of her journey on I'm a Celeb was so difficult.

"The first few days in camp were tough for me. The only way I felt I could cope was to cry.

"And out of nowhere surprisingly these wonderful humans scooped me up and brought out a side of me I didn't know I had. I let my guard down."

Jamie Lynn explained that she was disappointed her journey on the show ended so early.

She now wishes she held on for longer, but does believe she gave it her best shot.

"I made life-long friends, I forgot I could do that. I forgot people could like me.

"The hardest but most fulfilling thing I have ever done just for me, not for anyone else, just for me," she said.

Jamie Lynn added: "I really wanted to be there longer. I do regret that my journey didn't fully play out til the end. I can't say enough that I've made life-long friends. I hope they feel the same way."

Jamie Lynn Spears was the second celebrity to quit this year's I'm a Celeb.

Food critic, Grace Dent also quit the show after just days in the camp.

Both contestants quit the show because of medical reasons.
