An inflatable water park is coming to Dublin this weekend and OMG yes, we’re so there

Olivia Hayes

This could be fun.

The weather is glorious and it’s safe to say that many of us are making the most of it by hitting up the local parks, the beaches and just about anywhere we could lay our sunburnt heads on.

However, one thing that is always missing in Ireland is a water park – mainly because 90 percent of the year it’s raining – but still, we’d like to have some fun in one when the weather hits above 20 degrees.

That’s not too much to ask, right?

Well, for all of you who are in the same boat as us, our prayers have been answered because an inflatable water park is coming to Dun Laoghaire.

Big Splash Water Parks, the same company behind Surfdock at Grand Canal has won the tendering rights to set up shop on Coal Harbour.

According to The Sunday Times, the organisers want people to “get out, enjoy the water and have fun,” and in this heat, that’s exactly what we need.

There will be the likes of climbing frames and barges along the strip, with a huge obstacle course for you to spend your day on.

The structures can be erected and taken down within a day, so it’s going to happen very fast altogether. One hour long sessions are €18 for under 18s and €22 for adults. Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more. You can book your time in the inflatable water park here.
