A HUGE snowball fight is going down in Dublin today

SNOWDAY

Olivia Hayes

Are you in?

Whether you had to trek into work this morning or are happily working from home, it seems like people want to have a bit of fun with the snow.

After all, they’re saying it hasn’t been this heavy in 40 years.

An event has been set up on Facebook called ‘Massive Snowball Fight With South Dublin’. The event details a head-to-head snowball fight between the Northside and the Southside, and to be fair, it sounds like great craic.

“North v South in a vicious snowball fight to the death! Your chance to crack some 90 mile per hour curve balls off of Southsiders foreheads!! Who’s in?

“Please note that this is an unofficial event however there may be rogue snowballers loitering the streets and we may put snowball snipers in place on the day to absolutely lash any southsider out of it that tries to cross O’Connells Bridge so cross at your own peril…you have been warned.”

Obviously, we’re assuming their joking about lashing a southsider in the head, but we’re sure all around the country there will be a bit of messing going on… and maybe even a few snowmen being built.

You can check out the Facebook event here. The snowball fight is ‘due’ to take place on O’Connell Bridge at 3pm.

If you need to travel into the city centre, here are the latest transport updates.
