Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice was axed from the show this summer
Strictly Come Dancing‘s Giovanni Pernice has reportedly broken up with his partner amid the current Strictly scandal.
The dancer was axed from the show after Amanda Abbington made allegations claiming he mistreated her during their time on the show.
This is the second time the Italian dancer has broken up with Molly Brown.
The couple first got together in February but split up after three weeks. They rekindled their romance in May and even sparked engagement rumours when Brown was spotted with a ring on her wedding finger.
The reason for their split was down to the pressure Giovanni is under amid the Strictly scandal. The couple had been arguing in recent weeks and decided to call time on their relationship.
An insider told the publication: “Giovanni and Molly grew very close, very quickly, after they split up the first time and got back together.
“Their relationship has been pretty full on. But they have rowed again recently and it all came to a head earlier this week, when they called it quits,” they added.
The model has been supporting the dancer during this stressful time, but things had taken a toll on their relationship.
“Molly has been very supportive of Giovanni, but he has been under a lot of stress lately and that has taken its toll. It is not impossible they will try to give things another go once the dust has settled a little, after all, they have done that before,” they added.
Pernice axed from Strictly due to allegations of misconduct
The BBC agreed to axe Giovanni Pernice from this year’s show after Amanda Abbington went public with abuse allegations.
Pro-dancer Graziano Di Prima was also axed from the show for mistreating Zara McDermott during their training sessions. He allegedly kicked, hit and spat at the reality star.
A third ‘person of interest’ has been investigated but they reportedly no longer work on the show.
