Cheryl Fernandez-Versini may have only announced last Sunday that she had married for a second time, but now her and husband Jean-Bernard are to throw a second ceremony for family and friends.

The singer and X-Factor judge married restaurant owner Jean-Bernard in a private ceremony on the remote Mustique island, with just four guests in attendance including Cheryl’s mum Joan Callaghan and PA Lily England.

According to reports in The Mirror, there was some tension from family members who were left out of the star’s big day, so the couple plan on holding a second ceremony later this week to allow both families and close friends to join in on their celebration.

Speaking to the newspaper, a source said:

“A lot of her family haven’t even met the guy, and some were upset about missing the big day. So they want to do something to make up for things. It will also be a great opportunity for family and friends of both sides to get to know each other.

“The couple could have done it later in the year, but they want all their loved ones to share their happiness as soon as possible.”

The singer and her new husband are also planning to cover all transport and accommodation costs, with Cheryl’s family travelling from Newcastle and Jean-Bernard’s friends and family flying in from Paris for the occasion.

Cheryl has also decided to take her new husband’s name, and is dropping the name Cole from her first marriage to footballer Ashley Cole.

It has not yet been disclosed where the ceremony will be held.
