Now he’s doing it for a fourth time!
Famous last words Ricky…
Ricky Gervais famously swore he’d never host the Golden Globes again after his last stint in 2012 saw him come under fire from a number of critics.
“Thank f**k that’s over,” he wrote on his blog back in 2012. “I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again though. It’s like a parachute jump.”
Ricky will be at the helm once more.
Now though, the unofficial bad boy of awards ceremonies has been confirmed to host the event for the fourth time in 2016.
Ricky will take over from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who have been hosting the ceremony for the last three years.
He took to Twitter on Monday to comment on the news.
I’m making a list. I’m checking it twice. Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice. #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/Q4ZiTjQMCP

“We’re excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way,” said NBC Entertainment Chairman, Robert Greenblatt in a statement.
“Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor – and send up – the best work of the year in film and television. Fasten your seatbelts.”
It’s a good job I’m drunk. Otherwise the thought of hosting The Golden Globes again would seem like a real pain in the arse.

We’ve no doubt even more people will be tuning in on January 10th next year to see what controversy he causes.
