In the latest tribute to #TeamPanti star Rory O’ Neill, the Pet Shop Boys have released a gay rights song inspired by Panti’s inspiring Abbey Theatre speech calling out homophobia and oppression in society.
The speech, which went viral and has since been translated into various languages has also seen outspoken support for the Irish drag queen from Stephen Fry, Graham Norton and Alan Cummings following an RTÉ controversy with the Iona institute back in January.
The Irish star embroiled in the RTÉ drama has now been remixed by the British act. The dance duo’s new track The Best Gay Possible features all ten minutes of the speech.
Panti took to her Twitter, posting; “So, eh, PET SHOP BOYS @petshopboys made an amazing track out of my Noble Call speech. Seriously. They did.”
