They’re one of the strongest celeb couples around and Nicole Kidman definitely seems to put her family first, saying this week that she would abandon her career if husband Keith Urban asked her to.
The couple have been married since 2006 and the actress revealed that she would not have taken on her latest role as Grace Kelly if Urban had asked her not to.
“If he said no, I wouldn’t have done it. That’s how we are. I know this sounds old-fashioned but I do put it on the table. Because if it won’t work for us, then I’m not doing it.”
Asked if she would ever choose between her family and her career, the 46-year-old said: “Yeah, if he asked me. No question.”
Kidman, who divorced Tom Cruise in 2001, also revealed that she felt at her lowest after winning an Academy Award in 2003 for playing Virginia Woolf in The Hours as she had nobody to share the triumph with.
“I think love is the core emotion and without that, and I’ve certainly existed without that in my life, it’s a very empty life,’ she explained.
“When I won the Oscar and went home and I didn’t have [love] in my life, that was the most intensely lonely period of my life.”
