“I’ve also started to get really intolerable joint pain especially if I sit down for any amount of time if I cross my legs.”
Since giving birth to her son Leo, Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson has been sharing a number of health problems she’s encountered.
Now, she finally has been given some sort of answer, after being diagnosed with the autoimmune condition lupus.
According to Arthritis Ireland, lupus is a disease “in which the body’s natural defences (the immune system) are upset”. Symptoms include joint pain, rash, extreme tiredness, fever, weight loss, headaches, mouth ulcers, hair loss, swelling of the lymph nodes and your fingers and toes changing colour in cold conditions.
Taking to her Instagram story with a health update, Louise shared the results of a recent blood test.
“So to update you guys quickly, I had a call yesterday with one of the rheumatology guys and they got more of my blood test results back and the diagnosis is that I’ve got drug-induced lupus,” she said.

“It means that I’m really tired but I’ve also started to get really intolerable joint pain especially if I sit down for any amount of time if I cross my legs.”
She continued: “I was just on the bus going to one appointment this morning and when I stood up and started walking to the appointment and honestly me knees were in such agony.”
Louise explained that the pain is like none she’s experienced, and it’s changed her quality of life drastically, as she said that she used to be much more active.
“It’s just so rough having to adapt to all these new medical conditions, so that’s been really tough.”
The former reality star also spoke about how a cold she has is making her feel worse.
She said: “On top of that and almost worse because I can deal with fatigue, I can deal with skin, I can deal with pain but the neurological symptoms have just still been so unbearable and currently I’m dealing with this never ending cold.”
