Did you know that newly engaged supermodel Karlie Kloss and Princess Beatrice of York are close pals?

We didn’t – but they are.

The pair have been friends for a few years and have taken a number of trips together.

They travelled to Jordan with a gang of friends including Ellie Goulding earlier this year and attended a friend’s wedding together in France back in September 2016.

Karlie’s boyfriend of six years Josh Kushner got down on one knee earlier this week.

She said yes and Beatrice was one of the first people she told.

Posting to her Instagram stories, Karlie wrote that one of the best things about becoming engaged was getting to share the news.

She then shared the reactions of some of her closest friends and family members, including Beatrice.

She tagged Beatrice in the post, meaning we now have the Instagram handle for the eighth in line to the British throne.

The account, @BeaYork, looks pretty active with 128 posts but sadly it’s set to private.

The princess is following 1,021 accounts while just 651 people follow her including Cara Delevingne and Louise Redknapp.

The more central members of the royal family are barred from being on social media – Meghan Markle famously deleted her accounts last year as she prepared to join ‘The Firm’.

But Beatrice is in her rights to have her own Instagram – royals who have jobs outside of the family are allowed their own social media accounts.

My beautiful big sissy!

Her younger sister Princess Eugenie joined Instagram earlier this year with a public account.

Beatrice works as a business consultant, according to Buckingham Palace, while Eugenie is an associate director for Hauser & Wirth, an art gallery in London.
