We wouldn’t have expected this.
When it comes to naming wedding tables, couples often follow a theme from everything to film titles to cities they’ve visited or even favourite songs.
It’s a lovely way to personalise such a special day and if reports are true, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tried to do exactly that with their wedding.
According to one wedding guest, they decided to name each of their wedding tables after words that are said differently in the UK and America.
Two different pronunciations of tomato, the same with potato and so on.
This detail was revealed by actress Janina Gavankar, a friend of Meghan’s, in a recent interview with Town & Country.
Chatting to the publication, she explained how the tables were named.
“Potato, potato, tomato, tomato, oregano, oregano”.
“It was so sweet. There were so many nods to the beautiful mashup of two cultures.”
She also said that the “carefree” celebration with dancing and singing continued until 2 am.
Janina wouldn’t say too much about the wedding itself but she did comment on Harry’s speech and how special it was.
“The speech that Harry gave was so funny,self-deprecatingg, filled with love, and that guy just has her back. I left feeling so solid for them.”
