If you were clinging to hope that those Clooney engagement rumours were false, we’ve got some bad news.
George’s mother Nina has confirmed that the world’s most eligible bachelor has officially been snagged and will marry British human rights barrister Amal Alamuddin. The Daily Mail is reporting that the 74-year-old is very excited about the upcoming nuptials and had some lovely things to say about her future daughter-in-law, including the fact that she’s got both “brains and beauty”.
“You can say I’m extremely happy, Amal’s a lovely girl,” she said.
“I like her very much.”
Mrs Clooney and husband Nick live in Kentucky and met Amal at a private White House screening of The Monuments Men with President Obama in February. It’s believed that the couple have been dating for seven months and the 36-year-old is a leading human rights barrister in London, having previously represented Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
