Move Over Skype, WhatsApp Is About To Take The Lead…

Prepare to start making a LOT of phone calls...

Her

We all know and love trusty WhatsApp for sending our free text and voice messages to friends, and now it seems the tech team are about to move into new territory.

According to Tech Times, the updated version of WhatsApp will offer support for the voice call feature and it will be free of charge (to begin with anyway).

So now your emoji faces, hilarious group chats and voice notes are about to be paired with free phone calls. Friends in Australia are about to get a LOT of late night calls.

WhatsApp, who were bought by Facebook earlier this year, will compete with Viber and Skype to enter the free-calls market, but already trump competitiors by requiring less band width.

No timeline has been introduced for the upgrade, but for now we’ll bask in our instant chats and banter texts.
