An Post will be releasing a few new stamps to mark the Pope’s visit to Ireland later this summer.
The special commemorative stamps, which will be available nationwide tomorrow, feature an image of Pope Francis holding a single dove in his hand, and a photo of a family walking towards the ocean.
The stamp featuring the Pope will cost €1.00 and the family stamp (an international stamp) will cost €1.50.
The pontiff will visit Ireland in August as part of the World Meeting of Families 2018.
The six day event will see the the Pope visit Croke Park, the Phoenix Park, and the Knock Shrine in Co Mayo.
Half a million tickets for the Papal visit mass in the Phoenix Park have already sold out since going on sale late last month. 45,000 tickets for his visit to the Knock Shrine have also been snapped up.

This stamp-based news comes after Nathan Carter, Daniel O’Donnell and many other exciting acts were confirmed as headliners for the Pope’s visit to Croke Park.
Archbishop Diarmuid Martin said that Pope Francis is a great attraction because he “…shows how the role of Pope can be unique in bringing the Christian message into our complex world.”
The Pope stamps will be available for purchase from Thursday, July 26 in selected post offices.
