We didn’t expect this… at all.
New Years can be a major hit or miss for people.
Some love partying it up and welcoming in the New Year with lots of booze and laughs, while others prefer to sit in and relax while watching Marty Morrissey on the RTÉ New Years show.
No judgement either way, but they are both very different.
Then there are those that like to fly away for the holiday… get out of Ireland and ring in the New Year in a place far away from home.
Well, AirBnB has released a study of the top New Years destinations of the year, and we have to say, we didn’t expect number 1… or 2, or any of them for that matter.
Below are the top trending destinations for New Years Eve 2017.
- Suzhou, China
- Wuhan, China
- Veracruz, Mexico
- Hangzhou, China
- Puebla, Mexico
- Xi’an, China
- Guangzhou, China
- Nanjing, China
- Itanhaém, São Paulo
- Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná
We’re so used to New York or Paris being on top of the list that we didn’t even think these destinations would come into play.
And apparently, these are the most popular places for Dubliners to go on New Years Eve:
- Galway
- London
- Paris
- Dingle
- New York
- Edinburgh
- Lisbon
- Lanzarote
- Belfast
- Castlebar
Well, will you be heading to China or Dingle tonight?
