Paramedics from Dublin Fire Brigade had to make a fast lane delivery this morning.
The emergency services were called out to Junction 4 southbound on the M50 at approximately 3.30am when a woman went into labour.
They assisted in the delivery of a baby girl.
Both mother and child, who were subsequently taken to a hospital in Dublin, are said to be doing well.
