From playing a gig at the top of the Capital Records building in LA, to recording his best-selling live album at a sold-out gig in Whelan’s, it’s been one hell of a year for Her.ie favourite, Gavin James.
The 23-year-old Dubliner got last year off to an impressive start with a number one EP in Ireland followed rapidly by winning the Meteor Choice Music Prize – Irish Song of the Year Award for ‘Say Hello.’
The singer-songwriter’s good fortunes continued to soar throughout 2014 with headline gigs across Ireland and support tours with everyone from Ingrid Michaelson and Beth Orton to Kodaline, James Blunt and Marina & the Diamonds.
Famous fans include Ed Sheeran who tweeted the below to his ten million plus followers back in September:
Also, record labels, if you ignore Gavin James, you are losing out

Record executives duly took note and Gavin confirmed his signing with US label Capitol Records in January. With Sam Smith and Adele signed to the same label, the Dubliner is certainly keeping good company.

Gavin has also been taking Hollywood by storm after performing with fellow Irish singer-songwriter Megan O’Neill at the J.J Abrams’ star-studded Oscar pre-party last month.

The rest of 2015 is looking rosy for Gavin with an upcoming support tour confirmed with Kodaline (this time in North America) and his debut album set to be released at the end of the year.
The next opportunity for Irish fans to experience Gavin’s dulcet tones live and in colour will be at his sold-out gig at The Olympic on 20 March.
Gavin will also be headlining at Sea Sessions Surf & Music Festival which takes place on the shores of Bundoran from 19 – 21 June.
