Beard lovers rejoice – there’s a social networking app that will hook you up with the perfect soul mate, whether you’re on the hunt for a bearded man or a partner who appreciates your special grooming skills.
Bristlr marks themselves as “much like Tinder, is a networking site for finding people you might like to meet up with.
“Instead of asking if you’re single or taken, or looking for men or women, Bristlr simply asks if you have a beard. You can find people near you who either have beards, or are looking to meet people with beards.”
Founder John Kershaw, told Mail Online, he’s surprised at how popular the site has become – with 25,000 beardies signing up within the first five weeks:
“I think it’s the fact that instead of it being this serious business like ‘Hey, if you click this button we’re going to do this serious thing,’ it’s more like ‘Hey, I like your beard.’ It’s light-hearted – you can’t take it too seriously, which I think is really appealing to people.”
The app also lets you rate a beard, and you can even compare the beard rating scores with other hairy friends.
With online dating taking off, it’s no surprise that the network is now being viewed as the perfect opportunity to find your bearded pairing.
Fancy the fuzz of a fellow user? You can swap private messages, and if you want to sign up for more dates, you can either cough up the fee for roughly €3, or sign up three other bearded lovers to the site.
