Noah star Russell Crowe has hit back at the Irish journalist who got “shirty” with him at the premiere in Dublin.
In a video that’s surfaced online, when asked by Niamh Walsh if his team would ever play against Ireland, the Hollywood star clarified that the South Sydney Rabbitohs actually play rugby league and not rugby union.
The reporter then asked the actor the same question again, to which he responded: “do you understand what I’m saying? They’re different sports.”
The journalist then informed Crowe that he also makes mistakes, like when he referred to Ireland as being part of the UK.
“While the actor appeared to mean well, he was pretty condescending to our Niamh!” writes evoke.ie.
“He cut off conversation with her almost immediately afterwards, when she questioned if he confused Ireland with the UK on the red carpet.”
The journalist tweeted today: “at least I know geography.. Ireland is not in the UK. #fearlessjourno”
Prompting this response from Crowe:
@niamhie11 @eoinmurphy22 fearless journo my ass. You’re just a plonker who didn’t get the answer you’d predetermined & you got shirty.fail

I know Ireland is a sovereign nation. You can imply I don’t love Ireland but it won’t stick, love the place, love the people.
