Storm Hannah has come and gone.
We were really preparing ourselves for the worst last night as Storm Hannah took over the country. Weather warnings went from yellow to red in a matter of hours and the Gardaí even issued a safety warning.
The storm seems to have passed without much damage, however the weather today is going to be a bit all over the place.
Met Éireann is predicting that there’s going to be a lot of wind, some rain and maybe even a bit of sunshine.
Very windy to begin. Whilst the winds will abate, it will still be windy into the afternoon, with brisk northwest wind steering down a mix of sunny spells & scattered heavy showers. Winds will fully moderate later with mostly dry weather then too. Cool, with highs of 8 to 12C. pic.twitter.com/iGYtVPuEZK

“Windy this morning with outbreaks of heavy rain affecting Ulster for a time. Elsewhere, a mix of sunny spells and passing blustery showers. During the afternoon the rain in Ulster will largely clear and the strong northwesterly winds will moderate. By evening, much of the country will be dry with spells of sunshine. Top temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.”
Meanwhile for tonight: “Dry in most parts of the country early tonight with light winds and some shallow mist and fog patches. However, later in the night patchy outbreaks of light rain or drizzle will develop in the south and west. Rather cold, especially early on, with overnight lows ranging 3 to 6 degrees.”
