“I’ve never been happier to see a stranger I’ve seen on TikTok.”

A Ukrainian soldier who had fans worried after he stopped posting his regular TikToks for a number of days has reappeared on the platform.

The soldier, @alexhook2303, had been posting the short videos on TikTok for his daughter so that she could get regular updates from him – but then he went silent for five days, leading some to become concerned for his wellbeing.

However on Monday, he uploaded a new video, reassuring his 3.4 million followers that he was alive and well.

The father said in the short video: “I am alive, and will continue to fight for Ukraine.”

“Thank goodness you’re ok, people thought you passed,” someone else added.

Others wished the soldier well, writing: “Hope you are alright, stay strong.”

“Bro thank god you’re alive, praying for your safety!,” another user wrote.

His latest video has been viewed 5.5 million times and received more than 941,000 likes. However it’s not even close to being his most viewed upload.

The soldier’s videos have racked up millions of views, with his most popular clip having been watched 72.6 million times and getting more than 12 million likes.

It sees the soldier bust some impressive moves in his military uniform.

The videos are just another reminder of the human stories at the heart of this conflict and the resilience being shown by Ukrainians across the country.
