Two students have died and three are in a critical condition after a shooting at a school in Marysville, near Seattle.
The tragic incident took place at Marysville-Pilchuck High School at 10.36am this morning, when a freshman opened fire in the school’s cafeteria killing a classmate and injuring five other people before turning the gun on himself.
According to The Daily Mail, the shooter has been identified as Jaylen Fryberg, who was a high school football player player and homecoming prince.
Three of the victims were taken to Providence Regional Hospital for surgery and are said to be in critical condition, with a fourth person treated for less severe injuries.
According to classmates, Fryberg had been subjected to bullying over his Native-American heritage and police have said they do not a motive for the crime at this stage.
