A Scottish airport has hired a permanent team of therapy dogs to help nervous fliers

The best airport boys.

Flying can be fun.

You’re up in the air. You’re chilling out. You’ve got people bringing you drinks and snacks and telling you please put your armrest down for takeoff and landing please.

However, for some people, flying can be a stressful, anxiety inducing, and even terrifying event.

Some people don’t like flying, it stresses them out, meaning that they either force themselves through the experience in the hope that it’s not as woeful as last time… or they don’t do it at all.

The alternative for many is often bringing a therapy dog or other form of pet to provide a source of calm.

Now, however, the lads over at Aberdeen International Airport are doing one better and introducing their own team of permanent therapy dogs for passengers and staff to enjoy.

Bless.

The #CanineCrew, as they are known, are a group of registered Therapets, part of the Canine Concern Scotland Trust.

According to the airport’s website, the team will be there to “bring smiles and brighten your day.” What more could a flyer want, to be fair?

“The Canine Crew and their accompanying handlers roam the terminal every week to help you feel welcomed and relaxed,” reads the site.

It goes on:

“The dogs in bandanas and handlers in blue vests are an excellent addition to the customer service team.
“Passengers love seeing warm, wet noses and wagging tails that help create a friendly, PAWSitive experience at ABZ!”

The dogs start their first shift at the airport this weekend, with two dogs being rostered in each week.

14 of the dogs will work at the airport including a pug named Doug, a golden retriever name Bronte, a collie named Luna, and a beagle named Cullen.

Adorable, each and every one of them.

The dog’s roster kicks off on Saturday, May 4 at 10am with Breagh and Enzo.
